These Horrible Bosses Got Called Out By The Internet

For some reason, it seems like horrible bosses just think their employees will disappear if they cut their hours. This boss had no backbone and thought that by cutting his employee’s hours, he’d get rid of them. First, they worked 30 hours, then 20 hours, and then 0 hours. He tried to cut his hours down one by one.

Maybe he thought he wouldn’t notice? It’s a pretty big cut to go from 30 hours a week to 0, especially if this is your only source of income. We get cutting hours back if you’re low on budget, but cutting them down to zero just equates to firing someone. Unfortunately, cutting hours to get rid of an employee isn’t how it works. Instead of coming face to face with his employee, this boss just disappeared. It seems like he got what he deserved, though, since he was let go several months after this Reddit user quit (via Reddit).

This boss thought it’d be funny to make fun of his employee’s kid’s drawing by making a scribble drawing of his own. There’s so much wrong with that. It’s adorable that this guy put up his kid’s drawing at work, and it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever that his boss made fun of him.

It’s not like he put up an embarrassing photo or something offensive. It’s a little bit creepy that the boss did this. Maybe next time, he needs to hang the drawing somewhere his boss won’t see it (via Food Is In The House).

This employee was having a tough time mentally and emotionally, so he decided to take his health into his own hands and take a day off. That’s extremely responsible and the only way to become a better employee. If you’re suffering internally, whether mentally or emotionally, there’s no way you can step up and be the best worker you can be.

This boss doesn’t understand and told him that the only acceptable excuse is if he had ebola. That’s horrible and shows that he doesn’t care about his employees whatsoever. Imagine showing up to work, only to be told you’d have to stay until one in the morning? And sometimes, even close to three? That in itself is terrible. What’s even worse is that you’d have to show up at work on time the next day.

It’s already tough working on six hours of sleep, but any less than that is just horrific. We’re not sure why horrible bosses expect their employees to be super humans and work without any sleep, but it happens, and it happens often (via Reddit).

We understand setting up a decent time for interviews, but texting someone the night before and expecting them to receive the message on time is downright absurd. How can you expect an employee to prepare for a phone interview with less than 12 hours’ notice?

It looks like a major red flag and we hope this employee ended up with a different job. Maybe they were purposefully setting them up for failure, or testing them to see how much they wanted the job. Family’s support each other. If someone in our family gets hurt, it’s common knowledge that we’re going to do anything in our power to help them. This also includes missing work. Usually, kind and considerate bosses with a heart completely understand that family matters are the most important ones in the world. They definitely surpass work.

There’s more to this story than meets the eye. This person’s job was a five-mile walk away from the store, and he didn’t have a car. That means he’d have to walk home five miles in the dark. No one wants to do that.

The reason we quit our job is none of our boss’s business. It can range from hating the job to wanting to expand in our creative outlet. Whatever the case, a boss should wish their employee farewell and good luck in their next endeavors.

We understand why some horrible bosses would cut back on quality supplies to save a buck or two. They’re horrible, that’s why. It seems like they put safety to the side when they cut these costs, and it’s never their safety. It’s always the safety of their employees. This boss threw a piece of wobbly glass onto a drawer and thought to use that as a desk.

Everyone has weird quirks. This boss has one of the grossest ones out there. For some reason, he preferred to show off his bloody nose to his employees. We don’t understand it at all, considering it’s unsanitary. Luckily, this employee put her foot down and decided to tell her boss it was gross that he walks around with a bloody nose.

He’s also one of those horrible bosses that are sexist. Telling someone they’re promoting males ahead of females because they have families to support is an excuse that worked in the ’50s, not now. Females have to support their families, too. It’s a good thing this girl quit her job in the end (via Reddit).

This boss sounds like they’re trying to get out of paying their employee for their unused vacation days by laughing at their face. They’re not even trying to work it out with them, and are instead resorting to a bunch of emojis that serve no purpose.

Frankly, he sounds immature. This employee is better off going somewhere else and working for a boss who gladly pays them for their job and unused vacation days. There should be a reality TV show that talks about immature and horrible bosses. This one is just laughable. This person explicitly told their boss why they were quitting and were upfront about why they were leaving the toxic workplace. It’s also obvious that this boss is a huge part of why the workplace is toxic.

It’s not fun losing a bet. But it says a lot about someone’s character if they lose with dignity and pride. It also says a lot if they lose and then act like the victim, which is exactly what this boss did. Horrible bosses that are also sore losers need to leave the workplace and find another job that doesn’t involve running an entire team of adults.

Asking someone to come into work at nine in the morning, the night before, at three in the morning, is ridiculous. Did they expect their employee to be awake? Also, why is that boss up so late? Maybe they’re stressed out and were trying to work on the schedule. Either way, horrible bosses that expect their employees to come to work at short notice need to find another job.

Keeping tabs on your employees is one thing, but hanging a camera above them is another. What’s even worse is this boss decided to try and mask the camera with a picture of Nicholas Cage, which doesn’t make any sense.

When we apply for a job, we expect to do the job we were hired for. That’s what interviews and meetings are for. You need to prepare as much as possible before starting the job, otherwise, you’re out of luck. If someone asks you to come in on short notice, you better know your worth. If a boss really wants you to come in, that’s the best time to bargain your hourly pay. This employee knows what’s up and didn’t waste one second. Instead of agreeing to come in on his time off, he told his boss he’d charge three times his hourly wage and he has a deal, otherwise, he’d go in on Monday.

When we apply for a job, it’s usually because we need cash. We don’t have enough funds to dish out hundreds of dollars on a uniform before we start our job. When horrible bosses expect us to have pockets full of cash, it’s unrealistic.

Now, they wasted all that time for nothing, spent money on transportation, and probably shifted plans around because they had work. There’s nothing fair in that at all. Talk about a waste of time. This is a slap in the face. When you treat your employees with disrespect, they’re going to eventually stand up for themselves. This employee took it into his own hands and found himself a new job.

Working while studying is tough. You’re working two full-time jobs. Keeping up with grades and trying to pay for school at the same time isn’t easy, so props to this student for doing just that. They also sent an endearing message to their boss, who didn’t feel any compassion or sympathy for their employee. To them, working at Panera is more important than studying and getting a degree, which doesn’t make any sense.

Could you imagine having the flu and having to answer your boss every single hour while suffering from a high fever? It’s horrific! When you have the flu, you’re usually passing in and out of sleep, slightly delusional from the fever, and too sick to even eat. Of course, you’re not well enough to go to work.

What an awful job. Horrible bosses that make their employees do the most tedious, boring tasks need to be fired. After accidentally ordering hundreds of tiny pepper packets instead of a large bag of pepper, this boss made their employee sit there and cut open each packet, one by one, and pour it into a container.

Not showing up to work is a big problem, especially in a busy workplace. But an even bigger problem is someone who almost died from an allergic reaction and ended up in the hospital. That’s no laughing matter. Horrible bosses never seem to understand how dangerous medical emergencies can be, and how quickly things can go south. If this person had waited any longer, they would probably never come to work again. Or anywhere else for that matter.

Turning your work phone off outside of working hours makes a lot of sense. It’s expected, considering you’re off the clock once you clock out. Something is wrong if an employee expects you to have your phone on during working hours.

This horrible boss needs to be reported to the health department as soon as possible. It’s incredibly dangerous to serve expired food to customers. There’s an array of health problems that can come with serving expired food.
