McCartney and Mills finally divorced after a two-year battle in 2008. The settlement cost the former Beatles member a ludicrous $50 million in one of the most expensive celebrity divorces in UK history. But the writing was on the wall for the couple after they claimed irreconcilable differences.

Allegedly, McCartney’s daughter Stella was a major issue as she didn’t have a good relationship with Mills. “Stella wasn’t interested in her dad’s happiness,” Mills said in one interview (via Extra). “I can’t protect her any longer. Unfortunately, this was too much of a bridge for them to cross together.
