Relationships are complicated, especially when there are deep feelings involved. Some relationships succeed, though, without good communication, most relationships fail. Some people end up dating for the wrong reasons, just like this OP’s ex-roommate. Instead of breaking up with his girlfriend, he kept her around because she did his laundry and walked his dog. Though it sounds like a great way to get your chores done, that’s not a good reason to date someone. He only broke up with her after college, when he moved back home and his mom took care of his chores.
