Virginia —Old Dominion University

Virginia’s most affordable college to attend is Old Dominion University. This school is in Norfolk, Virginia, the second-largest city in the state. Initially founded in 1930 as an extension of the College of William & Mary, it’s currently one of the largest colleges in Virginia with a recent enrollment of nearly 25,000 students. The Old Dominion University campus sits on more than 250 acres. Students can choose from 168 degree programs, including online learning courses.

Old Dominion University costs about $20,910 per year to attend. Tuition is $10,046, or $5,023 per semester. Room and board will set you back $10,864 each year.

Washington — Washington State University

Another great school that doesn’t cost a lot to attend is Washington State University. This school is in Pullman, Washington which is in the southeastern region of the state. It was founded in 1890 and is one of the American West’s oldest universities. Nearly 30,000 students attend Washington State University each year. There are several divisions of Washington State University, including WSU Vancouver, WSU, Tri-Cities, and WSU Spokane. Washington State University also offers online degree programs.

West Virginia University is the most affordable college in the state. The main WVU campus is in Morgantown, West Virginia, which is two and a half hours north of the capital city of Charleston.
