In Wyoming, the most affordable school is the University of Wyoming. The school is in Laramie, Wyoming, which is west of the capital city of Cheyenne. It sits on the high Laramie Plains between the Snowy Range and Laramie mountains at a 7,220 feet elevation. The University of Wyoming was established in 1886, four years before Wyoming officially became a state. Its location is actually written into Wyoming’s constitution.
