Celebrities’ Heartfelt Reactions To Matthew Perry Passing

Even though a city itself isn’t necessarily a celebrity, we still want to acknowledge the memorial that fans from around the world have put in front of the Friends apartment on 90 Bedford Street in Manhattan. This Twitter account said, “New Yorkers have created a Memorial for Matthew Perry outside of the “Friends” apartment in the West Village, New York City.” If you’re in NYC, you can visit this location and see just how much fans from around the globe loved Perry (via Twitter).

Friends Cast

Perry’s Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc are currently all processing and grieving the loss of their co-star Matthew Perry. While they’re taking time to process what happened, they said in a statement, “We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives. He was a brilliant talent.”

Perry was an important member of their family, and the show obviously would not have been the same without him. They went on to say, “It’s a cliche to say that an actor makes a role their own, but in Matthew’s case, there are no truer words. From the day we first heard him embody the role of Chandler Bing, there was no one else for us.” He was the funniest in the room and always performed with all of his heart (via People).
