As humans, we use and appreciate signs on a daily basis. After all, they lead us in the right direction and can save us from any potential trouble in the future. Ultimately, many signs keep laws in place and the flow of traffic going in the right way. Sometimes, though, we see creepy signs that make us freeze in our tracks and feel a bit panicked.

These signs may intend to point us in the right direction, We’ve found some of the creepiest signs out there that warn about things such as poisonous snakes, aggressive animals, and incurable viruses. Next time you see one of these creepy signs, you might want to take a moment to look around your surroundings and strategically plan your next move. But one thing is certain – these will send a shudder down your spine, so read on ahead.

50) Missing Venomous Snake

Creepy signs mentioning missing venomous snakes send massive shudders down our spines, even if it is only mildly venomous and shy. This sign mentioned there was a 3.5-foot missing snake. That’s huge, and more than half of most of our heights. We don’t want to imagine what it would be like accidentally running into that snake during a trip to the zoo (via Bored Panda).

It looks like the people at this zoo don’t need to worry according to this sign. However, creepy signs like this that tell us one third of a glass door protecting our lives from the lions beyond it is broken isn’t something we really want to see. Most people who saw this would probably back away slowly and carefully. User Rabbit Carrot commented, “yeah but how did it break? Accidental damage or was the lion testing the fence like a Dino in Jurassic Park. If those lions are looking to escape we need to know!” We need to know, too. According to this sign, it’s our decision if we leave the ski resort or not. If people chose to, they could die. These creepy signs deter us from doing anything stupid, which is definitely a good thing. Internet user Vorknkx said, “we’ve had many cases like this in my country. Reckless young skiers who thought it wouldn’t happen to them… until it did.” That’s usually what happens. It only takes one or a few people having an accident to show you that anything could happen. If we saw creepy signs like this, we’d probably run the opposite way because we didn’t want to give consent to being touched and grabbed. It’s a good thing they have this warning sign, though, for people wearing glow necklaces. We’re curious to where this sign was, and what sort of place allows this. The creepiest part about this sign, though, is that the venue doesn’t take any responsibility for death or mental harm caused by your decision. This is one of the last creepy signs you’d want to see while driving. It’s creepy because it almost forewarns your demise, if you’re not careful. It’s almost disapproving in a way, because it’s telling you to buckle up and not get into a car accident, in order to save beds for COVID. We get that, but imagine you got into an accident after reading that sign? It’s safe to assume that we’d probably feel like the doctors were harshly judging us (via Bored Panda). Even though many of us don’t speak any Swedish, the picture is enough to show us that it’s one of those creepy signs telling us we could die. Apparently, people need to be careful with their garbage bins, or else they could decapitate themselves. First, we’re wondering what disease is in this truck that’s incurable. Second, we’re wondering where it’s being transported to and for what reason? While this sign is probably less creepy than sad, it’s still one of those signs that make us think about the reality of the situation. This sign tells visitors to not disclose the location of the rhinos so poachers did not potentially see it. Poachers illegally hunt and kill animals. When they poach rhinos, they’re mainly after their horns to sell. Hopefully, people pay attention to this sign and not disclose the location of the rhinos (via Bored Panda). It’s a shame that signs like this have to be in place in our world, but obviously, there’s a need for them as well.

Being told you will go missing is not something to mess with. This is one of those creepy signs that would make anyone and everyone back away on their tiptoes and hide. This is an Apartheid-era sign near Johannesburg, South Africa that dates to 1953. Apparently, Natives, Indians, and Coloreds would go missing if they entered at night. The armed guards shoot at night and dogs will eat their corpses.
