3. Anesthesiology is Competitive
In order to become an anesthesiologist, there is a pretty intense educational process. First, you have to complete a bachelor’s degree to go to medical school. Getting into medical school is competitive, so you need to choose your major wisely.
You also have to pass the Medical College Admission Test, or MCAT, before admission. After completing four years of medical school, you have to do a four-year residency program for anesthesiology. You will do on-the-job training with a highly skilled professional before getting the license to practice anesthesiology on your own.
