Sour Notes: These Artists Are The Biggest Jerks In The Music Industry

Monica January 12, 2024

They say to never meet your idols. So it may come as no surprise that a lot of the biggest artists in the music industry are also huge jerks. These stars are not immune from fame going straight to their heads, and many seem to believe they’re above everyone else. There’s never any true excuse to be a jerk, even if these artists seem to believe they have one or even many.

After reading this list, you might have a different opinion of some of these disappointing artists. Check out the biggest jerks in the music industry right here and don’t say we didn’t warn you. Let’s get started.

DBK News

Nicki Minaj

There might not be a bigger jerk in the music industry than Nicki Minaj. She’s infamous for her notorious backstage demands, which include two dozen pink or white roses, full tea sets, and scented candles. She has a strict diet that includes egg whites, fried turkey bacon, and salad with light dressing. Understandably, artists might want to stick to eating similar foods, but this seems like too much. Minaj seems to project much onto interviewers and writers, claiming they’re rude. Take a look in the mirror, Minaj.

Fans around the world have decided to simply cancel Nicki Minaj. According to DBK News, not only is she a jerk backstage, but “Minaj hasn’t helped her reputation by picking fights with some of the most popular, influential names in music. She took shots at Travis Scott after Queen debuted on the Billboard Hot 200 at No. 2, below Travis’ album Astroworld. And don’t even get me started on the ridiculousness that is her ongoing feud with Cardi B.” Maybe she should just keep her opinions to herself (via DBK News).

Quora

Eddie Van Halen

Van Halen wanted to see if his promoters were paying attention to him and his band’s outlandish demands. They requested pretzels, a tube of KY jelly, Herring in sour cream, three packs of Marlboros, two-fifths Stolichnaya vodka, two bottles of Blue Nun white, and a pint of Southern Comfort.

Not only did they have ridiculous demands, but Eddie was extremely pompous. One ex-fan wrote how Eddie Van Halen is one of their most disliked artists, saying, “I can’t believe he fired Michael Anthony and replaced him with Wolfgang Van Halen. The same Michael Anthony that stood by his side through the Gary Chereone years! Eddie is an insanely pompous d*****bag. He truly doesn’t “get it”. Nepotism is the worst cologne. Van Halen fans relate more to Michael Anthony than any other band member.” He seems to put himself on a pedestal for all the wrong reasons (VH Links).

Reddit

Jason Aldean

Unfortunately, Aldean is one of those artists who let his bad reputation come from a horrendous, scandalous affair and dumping his family, the people he was supposed to support the most. Not only that, but he dressed up in blackface and then decried being racially insensitive. To take steps further, he demeaned his wife on air and was incredibly disrespectful. His controversial music video Try That in a Small Town angered a ton of fans, which he seemed to have zero remorse for.

He told CBS News, “There were people of all colors doing stuff in the video. That’s what I don’t understand. There were White people in there. There were Black people. I mean, this video did not shine light on one specific group and say, ‘That’s the problem.’ And anybody that saw that in the video, then you weren’t looking hard enough in the video, is all I can tell you.” He stands by his video, even though it’s incredibly disrespectful. He’s one of those jerk artists who doesn’t care (via CBS News).

Quora

Axl Rose

In his younger years, Axl Rose was a little wilder and one of the meanest artists out there. Even though he’s grown up a little bit, he’s still a grumpy jerk thanks to his anger issues. If anyone insults him or sets him off, he may throw items at them and insult them. He used to tell fans to leave him alone, but now he agrees to take photos with them. It’s probably because fans started to lose interest in him.

Fans on Quora, who have met the artist, didn’t have many nice things to say about him. One ex-fan wrote, “Having had the displeasure of meeting him I can tell you why I don’t care for him. Axl is a world-class DIVA. While he may be a talented singer he is also full of himself and very difficult. He looks down his nose at people and has a crappy attitude towards people in general.” Reality check, Axl, no one is underneath you, you’re just a huge jerk (via Quora).

Quora

Ariana Grande

Many who work with Ariana Grande say she’s one of the most disrespectful artists out there. They don’t like her poor attitude, especially when she tells her staff to kick guests off rides at amusement parks so she can have a private experience. During her trip to Disney World, she was particularly snooty and furious that she had to wait for the park to empty so she could have her own experience.

Not only that, but the users of Reddit can’t stand her music. One Reddit user wrote, “Ariana Grande’s music sucks! YUP! It’s just simple generic bland garbage targeted toward the lowest denominator of society. A bunch of idiots get together, write a song, and some person that doesn’t know how to play an instrument mumbles it out and millions of people buy their album cause they are stupid.” At least they can choose to listen to music from plenty of other artists (via Reddit).

Quora

Gene Simmons

The frontman of KISS constantly seeks publicity, both on stage and off stage, through bizarre statements and beliefs. Unfortunately, he’s a notorious womanizer and misogynist. He claims to have taken more than 5,000 women to bed during his fame and constantly dismisses rap musicians and other artists in general. Everyone feels uncomfortable around this jerk. It’s hard to be a KISS fan when this is the face of the band.

During one incident, in particular, he told depressed people to end their lives. He said, “For a putz 20-year-old kid to say, ‘I’m depressed. I live in Seattle.’ [Screw] you, then [end your life]. I never understand, because I always call them on their bluff. I’m the guy who says ‘Jump’ when there’s a guy on top of a building who says, ‘That’s it, I can’t take it anymore. I’m going to jump.’ Are you kidding? Why are you announcing it? Shut … up, have some dignity, and jump! You’ve got the crowd. By the way, you walk up to the same guy on a ledge who threatens to jump and put a gun to his head, ‘I’m going to blow your … head off.’ He’ll go, ‘Please don’t.’ It’s true. He’s not that insane.” Even though he apologized for the statement, the damage was done (via Ranker).

The Independent

Lily Allen

Even though she can be delightful some of the time, it’s not all the time. Sometimes, she crosses the line and can be a tremendous snob. She tends to write songs about people in her life, including her ex-boyfriends and brothers. In one of her songs in particular, Lily Allen complains about how much of a loser her brother is. In 2008, she berated Elton John during the GQ Awards.

The users of Reddit pointed out one of the most disrespectful songs in the music industry. Surprisingly, many other artists never pointed out how she wrote a song “about how rich white people are bullied,” and others sarcastically pointed out how “‘I’m going straight to heaven in a Range Rover” is such a great line.” She should probably think before she produces such vulgar music (via Reddit).

Glamour

Katy Perry

Most of the artists in Hollywood know Katy Perry is prone to having spats with other stars like Taylor Swift. She thinks she’s better than everyone else, including the American Troops. C’mon, Perry, step off your high horse. Even though her hit songs Firework and Roar were top hits, it doesn’t mean she’s better than everyone else.

Previously, she’s been accused of plagiarism, including Christian Rapper Marcus Gray’s song Joyful Noise. Not only that but she’s known for scalping tickets for her shoes so other people don’t buy them and jack up the price for profit (via Cracked).

Reddit

Noel Gallagher

You’ve probably sat around a fire and sang Wonderwall with a ton of travelers. You can thank Noel Gallagher from Oasis for that. He has a massive temper that he doesn’t try to hide. This is one of the reasons he and his loved ones fight so much. Not only does he love picking fights, but he also loves throwing furniture around, especially chairs at his younger brother Liam.

Taylor Hawkins, from Foo Fighters, thinks Noel Gallagher is a jerk because he said he wanted to break up the Foo Fighters. Hawkins said, “So Noel Gallagher, who was opening up for Smashing Pumpkins in America at that time, goes – the first night – he goes ‘Oh I say we start a petition to get the Foo Fighters to break up.’ And I’m kinda like ‘Oh that’s kinda funny, whatever.” But when Noel kept saying pretty mean things, Hawkins decided he was one of the meanest artists he’d ever met (via News Yahoo).

British GQ

Tommy Lee

As the drummer for Mötley Crüe, Tommy Lee can be one of the rudest artists out there. First off, he refuses to take photos with his fans. That’s fine, but he also yells and screams at fans who so much as ask for a picture. That’s not okay. He curses them out and claims he doesn’t owe them anything. It doesn’t take much to respond nicely and decline, Tommy.

We get it, these stars are treated like royalty sometimes, and other times used like a cheap you know what. That’s showbiz! If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. After all these years in rock and roll, you would think he would be used to it by now. According to the users of Reddit, who have seen Tommy on the show Pam and Tommy, “From everything I’ve ever heard on other shows about Tommy Lee, the a**hole aspect of his character isn’t that far off from reality.” They seemed to portray him exactly as he is in real life (via Reddit).

BET

Ted Nugent

We’ve seen some ridiculous requests from famous artists, but Nugent has to have the most ridiculous one. One time, the Motor City Madman requested “man-sized Kleenex” because he had a runny nose. He also loves tuna, peanut butter, and tropical Slim Fast during his tours. In 1978, he had a strange relationship with a 17-year-old who wasn’t old enough to marry, which sparked concern. It’s hard to be a fan of a jerk like Nugent, and he should be held accountable for his defunct morals.

People on the internet dislike him and said they had a change of heart after listening to him. They said, “That was before I knew he was an a**hole. Anyway, I could never figure out why this guy was so popular back in the day. I somehow got dragged to see D*mn Yankees back in 1990 and I was f***ing miserable. Ted did his bow and arrow thing and Tommy Shaw’s caterwauling gave me a headache. The weed I had that night made me paranoid too. Terrible night all around.” They’re not alone in disliking Nugent (via Stereo Central).

Quora

Chris Brown

No one can deny Chris Brown has an anger problem, not even Brown himself. We’ve all heard the horrible news when he domestically abused Rihanna. And, he also punched Frank Ocean and screamed homophobic slurs at him. He even threatened to shoot him. He’s one of the angriest artists in the music industry.

In an interview, Chris Brown even admitted he was a jerk. He said, “People make mistakes, I’ve made mistakes, I’ve judged people who made mistakes, and they judge me back,” he said. “The best part about it is me having to learn. I thank God he had something bigger for me to do. The mindset I was in when I was younger, was full of arrogance, like, ‘Yeah I’m an a-hole like, so what f-k it, I got money like,’ and you know, at the end of the day everybody knows right from wrong.” That doesn’t excuse your behavior, Chris (via Hollywood Life).

Page Six

50 Cent

Even though Curtis Jackson had a pretty rough start to fame, he’s one of the most well-known artists out there. Unfortunately, he let fame get to his head at the Cincinnati airport, when he insulted and harassed a janitor who was autistic and hearing impaired.

He went on to apologize for the incident, though that doesn’t erase the damage already done. He said, “While the incident at the airport resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding, I am truly sorry for offending the young man. It was certainly not my intent to insult him or the disability community, which is a source of great strength in America. I have apologized personally to him and his family.” We all make mistakes, but some mistakes, you can’t come back from (via Page Six).

Salon

Ryan Adams

During a 2002 concert, Ryan Adams gave a mistaken fan $30 and kicked him out of his show, when the fan requested “Summer of ’69,” confusing him with Bryan. Humans make mistakes, and it’s ridiculous that Ryan Adams went to these lengths to kick the guy out of his show. He was also accused of controversial misconduct charges when he offered to assist women artists with their careers in return for a relationship.

The claims against Ryan Adams have made many fans rethink their appreciation and support of rock. Throughout his career, he’s also exhibited his behavior through his song lyrics. During an interview, he recognized how much of a jerk he is, stating, “Maybe I am a jerk sometimes. Maybe I’m not. I think most people are kind of a jerk once in a while. All my career, it’s like “Ryan Adams is a jerk.” No, I am not consistently a jerk, but I’ve had bad days. Like nobody else has bad days? Everybody else is a saint? And when did it become imperative that fucking musicians have to be Nancy Drew? Didn’t anybody grow up with KISS? What is going on? But yeah, I get a bad rap.” Sure, we have bad days, but that doesn’t excuse your poor behavior (via Salon).

Page Six

Deadmau5

Joel Zimmerman, also known as deadmau5, has gained a reputation over the years as one of the most famous EDM artists. He’s donated large sums of money to charities, but despite how much he gives, he’s known for being an extremely rude person. He mocks his peers, including other famous artists like Skrillex and Diplo.

Some users of Reddit have met the artist in person. One wrote, “I’ve talked to him somewhat personally and he’s a very miserable person.” That would explain why he’s so rude to many other people. At least he still has many fans who like his music (via Reddit).

RIFF

John McCrea

As the lead singer of Cake, McCrea is known for being a natural introvert. He takes this a step too far, as he insults audiences who paid to see Cake by refusing to play if the audience doesn’t participate. He tells fans they better sing along, or he’s going to walk off stage. Not only that, but he’s known for insulting countries while performing in their country. Fans once threw water bottles at him while he was on stage.

One Reddit user was at one of his shows where he forced the audience to participate. They wrote, “Later in the show he starts looking around at the audience, during another song, and motioning for us to stand up and start dancing or whatever. Getting incredibly agitated. Like throwing a fit agitated. Skipping parts of the song to show how mad he is about us sitting down. I’d love to have been down on the floor, but it was the size of a small living room, and they sold those seats to the 40-something-year-old rich dudes who were showing their 20-year-old girlfriends they were still hip. The rest of the venue is cramped, with church-pew-style seating. In higher areas, it’s probably a hazard to even get up.” Forcing your fans to dance isn’t the way to keep them around, John (via Reddit).

Nicki Swift

Christina Aguilera

You might have been a huge fan of her music when you were younger, but that doesn’t mean Aguilera is a dream to work with. She once required weird food while on the road, including Nesquik, Oreos, vegan cheese, and Flinstone vitamins. She throws over-the-top demands at her staff, making her one of the most difficult artists to be around. She’s caused taping delays on The Voice thanks to her demands and is known for having well-documented feuds with other female singers.

Band members from The Wanted want nothing to do with Christina Aguilera. Band member Max George said, “She was a bit scary, to be honest,” Other band member Tom Parker said, “She was a total b***h! She might not be a b***h in real life, but to us, she was a b***h. She just sat there and didn’t speak to us.” To take it a step further, Mariah Carey also dislikes her, and even said, “One time, we were at a party and I think she got drunk, and she had just derogatory things to say to me.” That’s enough to deem her as one of the rudest artists out there (via Nicki Swift).

Quora

Madonna

Whether Madonna is out there requesting 30 bodyguards, a physiotherapist, a chef, or replacing the furniture in her dressing room, Madonna might be one of the biggest diva artists out there. She’s not easy to work with, and her outlandish requests make her difficult to deal with. She’s not fan-friendly, as she keeps fans waiting hours for her performances.

Users on Quora have seen this rude behavior, and even said, “I’ve heard too many stories regarding her rudeness. She’s been known to push people out of her way when passing by, she asked Peter Andre, a supporting act during her Australian tour “Am I supposed to know you?” when he bumped into her a few years later. Cher has gone on record to confirm Madonna was extremely rude when the latter was invited to Cher’s home with her then-husband Sean Penn. It’s probably an ego thing.” She’s an artist who needs to step off her high horse (via Quora).

The Daily Beast

David Crosby

As a self-described “difficult cat,” Crosby had his fair share of youthful fun until his health made him take a step back and reflect on his youthful years. His band, originally The Byrds, who later became Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, constantly fought. He had a ton of tension with Neil Young and was known for being one of the rudest artists out there. His friends turned their backs on him, which hopefully made him realize how much of a jerk he is.

Just before he died back in 2021, he reflected on his life. During an interview, he said, “‘I know I’m at the end of my life, That’s where the rubber meets the road. How do you spend that time? You spend it waiting to die? No. You spend it making the most art you possibly can, because that’s your gig and that’s the one contribution you can make to the world. And the world f***ing needs it.” We can give him credit for his talent, at the very least (via The Daily Beast).

Tiny Mixtapes

Johnny Lydon (aka Rotten)

Lydon has been many things throughout his life, but subtle and humble isn’t one of them. He is the pioneer of the Sex Pistol, and he loves wreaking havoc with his words and actions. He’s not afraid to speak his mind, even if it’s not the best idea most of the time. He has a bad boy behavior that many people love but hurts many others.

In 2006, he and his band stuck on their high horse and decided not to associate themselves with other musicians and artists. According to Miami New Times, ” Johnny and the Sex Pistols were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course, though, they boycotted their ceremony. Why? Well, because Rotten and the rest remain “real Sex Pistols” so deeply dedicated to anarchy that they refuse to fraternize with “music industry people.” As the band’s official statement flatulently explained: “Next to the Sex Pistols, rock and roll and that hall of fame is a pi** stain.” Perhaps … But wouldn’t it still have been glorious fun to watch Johnny leave wet Rotten skidmarks all over the red carpet?” Many fans around the world dislike the artist and think he’s horrendous (via Miami New Times).

Quora

Courtney Love

From the young age of 14, Courtney Love was arrested for shoplifting and put in foster care until the age of 16. Then, she partook in drugs, fought with other female artists and performers, and eventually acted so out of line, that her daughter got a restraining order against her.

Ex-fans on Quora explain why she’s a huge jerk, and write that “She started Kurt Cobain’s drug addiction to heroin, she has attacked riot girls multiple times (She reportedly punched Kathleen Hannah), he has done many things against the bands (Mostly Dave) wishes for things concerning Cobain, a LOT of people (Even the private investigator she hired) believes that she had hired and/or murdered Kurt Cobain and made it look like a murder (I recommend watching Soaked in bleach to know more), people think that she only loved Kurt for his money, and she lies.” That sounds like enough of a list to stay far away from her. She also used heroin while she was pregnant with her child Frances Bean (via Quora).

Buzzfeed

Celine Dion

As one of those artists who has ridiculous requests, Celine Dion says that all rooms must be 73 degrees Fahrenheit, and her enormous entourage must be catered to.

Other fans simply dislike her music, and say, “She sings schmaltzy, middle-of-the-road music which is more popular with people in the 30+ age group. She’s not cutting edge experimental or innovative. She’s never been trendy.” It sounds like a bad combination, with no talent and rude behavior, she’s one of the most disliked artists out there (via Quora).

Consequence

Kid Rock

Known for his hard and crude persona, it doesn’t mean he has to take it further and be rude to people and his fans. He instigates fights, including one where he punched Tommy Lee during the MTV Video Music Awards, in front of thousands of people. This guy needs a serious reality check.

He even went on a rant in Tennessee when he saw fans recording him, angrily shouting while pointing to his crotch, “F**k your iPhone. You can post this, you can post this, you can post this **** right now. You f**king f**gots with your phones out.” He certainly has some anger issues (via Consequence).

Reddit

Matt Good

He’s not as popular as he was thirty years ago, and it’s probably thanks to his poor attitude towards other artists and his fans. He’s not afraid to admit he’s cranky most of the time and has a bad temperament that many people like to stay far away from.

He once sold merchandise that said, “I Hear Matt Good Is A Real A**Hole.” People bought the merchandise, but admitting you’re a jerk doesn’t make up for it (via Reddit).

Variety

Phil Spector

As the infamous creator of Wall of Sound, Phil Spector helped hundreds of artists around the world expand into the talent they now have. Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t mean he’s a very nice person. He has a huge ego and megalomaniac persona that makes other artists fearful of him and the power he supposedly has. He’s known for dark and turbulent behavior, like holding women at gunpoint instead of just letting them leave. He shouldn’t be allowed in the music scene.

He has a dark history of murder and abuse, and according to ABC News, “Throughout his life, Spector had been linked by medics with bipolar disorder and had also received medication consistent with schizophrenia.” Unfortunately, his life took such a bad turn after helping many artists (via Mirror).

Rolling Stone

John Mayer

People love to hate John Mayer but it’s all thanks to his horrible attitude. He seems to walk around this life with no care for other people and certainly no moral consciousness. He’s said racist remarks during interviews and has bragged about dating his conquests.

During a previous interview, Mayer said he was a huge jerk because he realized “It’s very liberating when you finally realize it’s impossible to make everyone like you. I wanted everybody to like me. I thought I was one shuck and jive away in every direction.” Fame went straight to his head (via Hollywood Reporter).

The Australian

Mariah Carey

Known for having an uptight attitude, Carey is known for her full-on temper tantrums on stage and the expectation that everyone is beneath her. Her poor behavior once got her booted from Will Ferrel’s The House.

According to Co-Star Cedric Yarbrough, who worked with Ferrel, “When Mariah finally showed up she refused to match the stunt. “Darling I would never do it that way…” I heard her say those exact words. She then requested a large fan for her hair to be blown around and a camera that would be above her, basically a crane shot.” To say she’s a diva is an understatement (via Movie Web).

Sky News

Liam Gallagher

As the other co-founder of Oasis, he had a chair thrown at him by Noel because he changed the lyrics of a song to purposefully insult Americans. For some reason, he hates Americans and has previously ditched a tour just to go on a shopping excursion. Some artists have so much money that it goes straight to their heads.

Fans recognize his horrible behavior and mention “He was notorious for insulting his bandmates onstage, particularly his brother, he was also an abusive drunk who wrecked a lot of shows with his antisocial behavior, he often mocked his brother’s songs even though he didn’t write songs himself. the final straw came when he insulted his brother onstage, and joked that he wondered who the father of his kid was, Noel had enough, they got into a fight onstage and that was it.” This behavior has led to his reputation of being one of the biggest jerks in the music industry (via Quora).

The Hollywood Reporter

Kayne West

West is known as one of the crankiest artists in the music industry. He’s also a jerk, and during a concert in Australia, he stopped his concert and told everyone to stand up. One fan was in a wheelchair, and he told the fan unless he could show his handicap pass or proof, other than the wheelchair, that he couldn’t stand, he wasn’t going to continue the concert. Everyone started booing. He then went on a long rant about how he was being targeted.

He tried to explain himself out of this incident, and said, “They’ve got this thing where they want the masses, the people who’ve never even heard one of my albums, to somehow read a headline that reads negative and to think that I’m a bad person. But the thing is … I’m a married Christian man with a family. At my concerts, I make sure everybody has as good a time as possible. So all this demonizing me, it ain’t going to work after a while. Pick a new target, because I’m not one of these dumb** artists that you’re used to.” There’s no fixing the damage that’s already been done (via CNN).

Literary Hub

Prince

There was once a time when Prince was one of the most renowned artists in the world. Unfortunately, that fame went straight to his head and he ended up being incredibly rude. One time, he borrowed one of the Roots’ 1961 Epiphone Crestwood guitars. Instead of taking care of it, he smashed it up on stage. Even though he paid for it, it doesn’t take back the damage. He also has ridiculous requests, including a camel in Minnesota at 3 A.M. When they couldn’t get him the camel, he didn’t understand why.

He also apparently “Appeared on a British TV awards show. Shows up with sunglasses on (indoors), and his bodyguard. Insists on a private table. He and his bodyguard. Inside with all the other music biz personalities and stars. Yeah, he was too important to sit with his peers.” It seems like a common thing that these artists think they’re above everyone else (via Quora).

The Daily Beast

Justin Bieber

You’ve probably heard a story or two about the crankiest artist in the entire music industry. He tends to act like a child and can’t seem to do anything for himself. He’s a colossal jerk and has ridiculous demands. Some of these include asking his bodyguards to carry him up the Great Wall of China, calling a fan a “beached whale,” and spitting on his fans. He’s even driven while under the influence. Bieber is a baby who constantly throws temper tantrums.

Many ex-fans believe he’s been a jerk his whole life. Some say, “He’s been famous since he was like 12. He didn’t have really good role models or good friends who weren’t interested in his growing fame around him to keep him grounded. So his head grew and grew and grew.” That’ll certainly explain it (via Quora).

China Daily

Pete Wentz

Do you remember the time Fallout Boy was popular? Pete Wentz is a member of this boy band, and even though he’s not a complete jerk, he does have his horrific moments that compare to some of the other artists on this list. He’s pretty cranky, and one time grabbed his friend’s phone and smashed it, and then said he’d smash her face next. He also pours beer on fans who so much as dare approach him.

One fan on Reddit, who met Pete Wentz, said, “he seemed detached from the whole situation (not only while meeting me, but pretty much all the people I saw meeting him before me too).” Others claim he’s just shy and reserved, but he has a rude personality (via Reddit).

Facts

Chad Kroeger

There’s no doubt that Kroeger gets the award for being the biggest d-bag in the world of artists. He’s cranky, and rude, and makes horrible comments toward other artists and musicians. He’s compared himself to Queen, which is a bit ridiculous. He once claimed Stone Sour was trying to sound like Nickelback in an interview, and called them “Nickelback Lite”. Then, he claimed Nickelback had major diversity in their songs. He took issue when Corey Taylor claimed writing a hit song was easy.

Corey Taylor fired back at these claims, and said, “You know what? I’ve never said it was easy to write a hit song. I don’t know what planet he’s living on. It’s Planet Kroeger – and there must be good weed there because he’s an idiot.” Even though Kroeger isn’t as hated as many other people on this list, he’s certainly not loved (via Louder Sound).

Southeast of Heaven

Sebastian Bach

As the leader singer of Skid Row, Sebastian Bach is known for being quite grumpy and even violent. When he went out with his band to a bar in his hometown to enjoy the evening, there was another band playing. Bach wanted to join in, and when they refused, he started throwing a tantrum and was removed from the bar. He bit someone during the fight. It sounds pretty juvenile.

One ex-fan met him in real life, and on a forum online wrote, “Not a nice guy. A self-absorbed jerk. I’ve met him and I know people who have worked with him. He’s a tool.” It’s better to stay away from artists like Bach (via Steve Hoffman).

Rock Nerd

Ringo Starr

It’s hard to believe one of the members of the most famous rock band in the world, The Beatles, is a huge jerk. But Ringo Starr has a serious attitude and has even laughed in children’s faces who wanted to finally meet their biggest fan. At least the other members of The Beatles were kind and friendly.

Users of Reddit have noticed this negative change in his personality, and have said, “He has argued that he doesn’t sign autographs anymore because some people just ask him to later sell the autograph and make a profit. So what? Should all good fans be denied to have a signed copy of say their favorite album just because a few individuals plan to make money out of it? It’s completely unfair, and considering that he’s incredibly rich, why should he care about it? Regardless, those sold autographs will end up in the hands of a caring fan. I’ve seen footage and heard anecdotes about him acting very disrespectfully and smug towards fans.” The easiest thing he can do is sign one autograph and move on with his life. He doesn’t have to be mean about it (via Reddit).
