Movie fans assume that movie co-stars are best friends when they’re on set together. But the reality is that not everyone clicks and some co-stars actually hated each other. It might be as simple as a clash of personalities. Maybe one actor has a serious attitude toward their craft while others are more relaxed in their approach to the work.
Then there are times when people behave badly and their fellow cast members don’t accept it. Feuds bubble before boiling over and becoming the stuff of Hollywood folklore. So today, we’ll look at some of the most infamous back-stage tensions. It’s worth noting that sometimes stars channel this hatred into amazing on-screen chemistry as well, so check the feuds out here.
Bill Murray and Lucy Liu
Murray is one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors but it appears he has a darker side behind the scenes. Several stars complained about his on-set behavior including his Charlie’s Angels (2000) co-star Liu. Murray and Liu didn’t have a healthy relationship. He was allegedly abusive toward her but she wouldn’t bow down (via Deadline).
Reportedly, they had a dispute about a scene but Murray took it too far. The actress explained: “I stood up for myself, and I don’t regret it. Because no matter how low on the totem pole you may be or wherever you came from, there’s no need to condescend or to put other people down.”
