The label maker tape is far more adhesive and durable than, say, a PostIt note, making it ideal for long-term solutions where a label or instruction is needed. It’s merely a convenient device that most homes will find a surprising number of uses for.

While the pot lid racks don’t look nearly as artisanal or exciting, it’s almost always a hassle rummaging through piles of lids on a traditional flat shelf to try to find the one that fits. Plus, they’re less likely to get chipped or damaged if they aren’t being jostled in a shelf.

Chalkboard labels are great if you plan to use mason jars or decanters for food and drinks. You can erase and reuse them over and over again.
